My name is Karie De Nobrega and I am a Senior at The University of Texas at Dallas majoring in Psychology (Pre-Medicine)

Aspiration

My career goal is to go to Medical School after my earning my Bachelors Degree and achieve my Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology to become a Pediatric Psychologist solely working with children and teenagers. Additionally, a personal passion and dream of mine is to Enlist in the US Army after College. I served my time as a Cadet in Army ROTC for a year.

Culture and Biracial Community

I am originally from Dallas, Texas. During my early childhood my family and I moved to the British Virgin Islands, a Creole Country know as New Amsterdam, Guyana, where I grew up. I hold biracial ethnicity with my mom being Hispanic from El Salvador and my Dad being Afro-Carribean from the Caribbean.

Traveling

Traveling is an enormous part of my life that I hold very dear to my heart. I experienced my first airplane ride from Dallas, Texas to South America when I was a baby.

Additionally, my aunt, 2 younger cousins and my uncle reside in Bangkok, Thailand and I have made 2 memorable trips to spend family time with them. My top 7 favorite places that I have experienced with my family include Las Vegas Nevada, El Paso Texas, Phoenix Arizona, Orlando Florida, Tokyo Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan.
